Practical falls prevention for older people.

We share clear, evidence-based guidance to help reduce the risk of falls — through community talks, simple home safety steps, and strength & balance awareness.

  • Simple steps you can do today
  • Accessible language for everyone
  • Community talks for groups & organisations

Fast safety checklist

  1. Clear trip hazards (loose rugs, trailing cables).
  2. Improve lighting (hallways, stairs, night lights).
  3. Check footwear (supportive, good grip).
  4. Review medicines with a pharmacist/GP if dizzy.
  5. Build strength & balance (small, regular routines).

This website shares information, not medical advice. If you’ve fallen or feel unwell, contact your GP or NHS 111. In an emergency call 999.

About the charity

The Falls Prevention Trust exists to help older people stay safe and independent by reducing the risk of falls. We focus on information that people can understand and use — delivered through friendly talks and simple resources.

We work with community groups, churches, lunch clubs, housing associations, and care organisations. Over time we plan to seek funding to expand our reach and produce more high-quality resources.
